Oh Shit is a podcast concept designed for contractors, built around the stories that usually only live on jobsites — the funny ones, the expensive ones, the unbelievable ones, and the ones nobody would believe without proof.

The show creates a space for contractors to share experiences they’ve never really had a platform for, organized around five recurring themes: Crew Chaos, The Customer From Hell, The Near Miss, The One That Cost Them, and You Wouldn’t Believe What We Found.

The strategic idea behind the concept is “You Had to Be There.” Every episode centers around stories that couldn’t be proven, couldn’t be explained, or became more costly because there was no record of what actually happened.

Rather than positioning CompanyCam as a sponsor or interruption, the product becomes part of the narrative naturally — existing as the tool that resolves the tension behind many of these stories.

Current exploration includes a weekly in-house production format, guest travel support, and future branded extensions such as experiential activations and recurring segments (working title: The CompanyCam Long John).

The Idea

This concept was designed to explore an opportunity beyond traditional product marketing: building culture and community within the contractor space.

CompanyCam already has the credibility, customer relationships, and product relevance to participate authentically in these conversations. Contractors who have avoided disputes, protected work, or validated their expertise through documentation represent built-in proof points — the podcast simply creates a format that turns those moments into stories.

The goal is to strengthen brand affinity by creating entertainment that contractors would engage with even if the product never appeared on screen.
